Last Thursday, February 26, 2015, was a normal day for Margaret with coffee in hand and laughter in her voice. She spoke to family and friends on the phone, had dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday and went to bed shortly after midnight. Before noon on Friday, she was called home to be reunited with so many loved ones that have gone before. Margaret Louise Owens Williams was born to Ila B. (Stephens) Owens and Guy Leslie Owens in Mexia, TX on May 11, 1945. She was a member of the Mexia Blackcat Band and attended school in Mexia through High School. Through the years, Margaret had a love for reading, cooking - especially candy at Christmas, and sewing clothes for her girls. She was a lifelong fan of Elvis and acquired an extensive collection of Coca-Cola items that she would gladly tell you about, if you had a moment to spare. If you were her friend on Facebook, you know that she loved seeing what was going on in her loved one's lives. She bragged on her grandchildren - they were her pride and joy - and ended most posts like a letter, with Love you. She loved coffee and always had a cup for anyone who stopped by. Margaret loved celebrating birthdays and we will all miss our text "reminders" on each and every one's birthday to make sure no one let their special day go by without an overload of texts and calls. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Christina DeLoss and husband, Curt of Keller, Deanna Culbreath and husband, Jim of Durant, OK, Andrea Ansell and husband, Derek of Saginaw and Bobbie Jo Hardy and husband, Elias of Fort Worth; brother Joe D. Owens, Sr. and wife, Billie of Cypress, TX. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Farren Steward and husband, Jason who have two of her great grandchildren, Zadie and Lynna Mae, Heather Neuberger and husband, Brandon, Hannah Williams, Morgan Edwards, Lee Edwards and wife, Haley, Terra Culbreath, Stephanie Bailey and husband, David with three more greats, Aubrey, Katey and Wyatt, Jessica Moses and Jamin who have one more great grandchild, Jude, Caleb Ansell, Rebekah Rodriguez, Tres Hardy, Elise Hardy, Ellison Hardy and Elliott Hardy. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father; sister, Lois Willett and husband, Jerry; and brother, Guy Leslie Owens and wife, Joan. Family hour will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, TX. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Scott Ketchum officiating. Weather permitting, a graveside service will be held at Mexia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Caleb Ansell, Lee Edwards, Tres Hardy, Brandon Neuberger, Randy Owens and Jason Steward. Joe D. Owens, Sr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
