Mary Lillie Adams, 82, of Thornton passed away October 14, 2010 in Waco. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2010 with Rev. Tracy Sims and Rev. Billy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kosse Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Mary was born December 18, 1927 in Kosse, Texas to Walter and Lillie (Williams) McDade. She graduated from Kosse High School in 1945 and later, returned to school and graduated from Sam Houston State University on May 11, 1985. She taught school for eight years in Marlin and Groesbeck after working at the Mexia State School for twenty-three years. Mary was an active member of Central Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Raymond, James and Floyd McDade. Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years, J. C. Adams; sons, Michael and wife, Allison and Jeffery and wife, Jennifer; brother, Franklin McDade; grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Julie, Michael, Jr. and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Austin and Ashton Hyde and Skylar Meadows; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Clayton McDade, Steve Sharp, Jay Hyde, Kenneth Reynolds, Bill Sadler, Justin Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Minchew, Rex Bell, Jon King, John Favors, Ronnie Driskell and David Favors.
