Mary Frances Nickels-Driver, 81, of Mexia passed away December 26, 2009. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Rev. David Snow will officiate with interment to follow in Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Monday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Frances was born February 6, 1928 in Lost Prairie, Texas to Clarence Clay and Lillie Mae (Lummus) Holder. Prior to retirement, she worked for 30 years at the Mexia Textile Mill and 21 years at the Wortham Nursing Home. Frances devoted her life to working hard and caring for her family. She loved nothing more than her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, O. E. Nickels, Sr. and William Driver; and brothers, Glynn Holder and Junior Holder. Frances is survived by her son, Jacky Nickels and wife, Debbie; daughter, Mary Ann Thornton and David Dunkin; grandchildren, LaJuana Thornton, Kevin and Jamie Nickels, Joshua and Jennifer Nickels; great-grandchildren, Candace Renae Carroll, Robyn Renee Nickels, Andy Clay Nickels, Joshua Jack Nickels and Cody Weathers; and nephew, Dewayne Holder. Pallbearers will be Randy Wilson, Miles Owen, Rickey Dick, Billy Lee, Steve Coker and Jason Fox. Honorary pallbearer will be Dewayne Holder. The family would like to express their special appreciation to Rickey, Fran and Diana Dick and Hospice for their care and support.
