Mary Kathryn Forrest Parker, 84, of Dallas passed away at her home August 18, 2010. She had been a resident of Lexington Place in Dallas, TX. since April 2005. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2010 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. Ron Key officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m., prior to the service. Mary Kathryn was born December 27, 1925 in Mexia, Texas to Harry and Kathryn Welborn Forrest. She was a graduate of Mexia High School, Mexia, TX. and received a Bachelor of Science in Art at Texas Women's University, Denton, TX. Mary Kathryn married Jack Henry Parker, of Dallas, on June 30, 1956 in Mexia. . She resided in Richardson, TX., Harlingen TX. and San Antonio, TX. and raised three children. Her life was her family and church. She was a loving Wife, Mom, Room Mom, Sunday School teacher to children ages 2 and 3, Choir Member, Cub Scout Den Mom, Cook, Homework Helper and family "taxi" driver. Her artistic talents were heavily called upon by her church and her children's schools. Mary K's working career included editor of the corporate magazine for Republic National Bank of Dallas and later for GPM Life Insurance of San Antonio, TX. She was a member of Castle Hills Christian Church in San Antonio until she moved to Dallas for health reasons. Survivors, who cherish her memory, are son, Forrest Wayne Parker and wife, Rebecca and children, Amanda and Matt Parker of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Priscilla Parker Baitup and husband, Michael and son, Ethan Baitup of Dallas, TX. and Polly Ann Parker of Garland, TX.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, James Forrest.
