Mary Sue Vicars, 88, of Wortham, passed away December 28, 2014 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. James Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mary was born January 9, 1927 in Freestone, Texas to Charles and Vena Chavers Vance. Her career was focused on raising her children; they were her life. She was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Mary loved family gatherings and caring for her cat and companion, Petunia. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Jeff and Carol; three brothers; and two sisters. Mary is survived by two daughters, Norma Sue Bryant of Katy and Marilyn Kerley and husband, Tom of Teague; one son, M. A. "Butch" Nichols, Jr. and wife, Evie of Mexia; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kyle Hancock, Gary Finley, Nick Nichols, Ron Day, Alden Garber and Andy Day.
