Mary Ann Lane

Mary Ann Meinecke Lane was born on March 14, 1932 and passed from this life into glory on June 14, 2020. She was an identical twin, born in Litchfield, IL and later attended Chicago Musical College where she studied piano and received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy.

While living in Chicago, she met, and later, married Kenneth Lane, and they moved to St. Louis where they lived for many years. Mary was a Kindergarten teacher, and later the principal of Central Christian School, a ministry of Central Presbyterian Church in Clayton, Missouri. She was active in her church in a variety of roles. She was a lifelong teacher, school administrator, pianist, knitter and prayer warrior. She knitted sweaters for all her children and grandchildren. She was part of the Barnstompers Square-dance Club. One of her greatest gifts was that of hospitality. She could always make others feel welcome. She loved her children and grandchildren, fiercely, and was very excited to become a great-grandmother.

Mary is survived by her sister, Rita Seiler; son, Rev. Kenneth Lane III and his wife, Cynthia;  daughter, Kimberly Lane; grandchildren Katie Beth and Matthew Lane-Willis, Spencer Lane, Austin Lane, Tiffany Lane; and great grandchildren Torean Edward Willis and Arianna Everlee Willis.
