Maurine DeVore Bennett, 90, of Mexia passed into Heaven on May 4, 2012. Funeral services will be 2PM, Monday, May 7, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Maurine was born October 9, 1921 in Frost, Texas to Victor M. and Willa Mills Malone. She was known as Memaw, to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to some as Monie and others, T-tang. She worked for many years at the Futorian Furniture Company. She loved to fish, cook, take care of others and work in her yard. She devoted her life to God, her family and friends. Maurine was very outgoing and had a great sense of humor. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Johnny R. DeVore; infant daughter, Debra L. DeVore; three brothers, Floren, Billy and Victor Malone; two sisters, LaVerne Elmore and Joy Kelley; two granddaughters, Becky and Lisa Walpole; one grandson and fishing buddy, Ty John Walpole. Maurine is survived by her husband, Tracy Bennett; daughter, Bobbie Ann Bowden and husband, Rayford of Kosse; granddaughter-in-law, Terry Walpole of Alba, TX; four sisters, Kathern Horton of Corsicana, Jackie Anderson of Lorena, Jerry Sue Malone of Corsicana and Judy Schronk of Ft. Worth; two great-granddaughters, Raina Reeder and husband, Cameron of Ft. Worth and Mandi Stovall and husband, Jason of Alba; two great-great-grandsons, Cade T. Stovall of Alba and Chace T. Reeder of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Cameron Reeder, Jason Stovall, Billy Anderson, Ronald Elmore, David Malone and Sonny Bowden.
