Graveside services for Mrs. Mereda (Rita) Mae Akin, 70, of Pt. Enterprise will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2006 in Brushy Cemetery, Leon County. Pastor Rita Burleson will officiate with interment to follow in Brushy Cemetery. Visitation With the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday night at Blair - Stubbs Funeral Home In Mexia. Mrs. Akin was born December 15, 1935 in Centerville to Pete Phillips and Lacie Beatrice Phillips and passed away on May 25 in Haven Nursing Home. She retired as direct care Helper at Mexia State School and was a member of the Living Word Church in Groesbeck. Survivors are three children: Rickey Fowler of Bryan, Lisa Gilmore of Dallas and Tina Lehrmann of Mexia; grandchildren: Bradon Lehrmann, Alesha Zaragoza, Kelly Gilmore, And Avery Fowler, 2 great grandchildren, Ethan and Kaleb Zaragoza, sister: Lorine Noey of Marquez. .
