Funeral services for Mika Collette Turner, 35 of Dew will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 in Blair Stubbs Chapel in Teague with interment to follow in Mexia Cemetery. Dr. Max Burkhead, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Teague will officiate. Mrs. Turner was born on May 28, 1970 in Mexia and passed away at her residence On December 19, 2005. She was a lab technician for East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield and had worked at the Mexia Hospital. Since her youth Mika was in the Kansas High School Rodeo Association competing in the girls breakaway as well as the boys in The team roping. Mika was loyally devoted to riding, ropin' and her horses. She later married Coy Turner of Teague, a fellow team roper. She was an active member of the National Barrel Horse Association and competed in many local barrel racing events. Mika shared her passion for rodeo by hauling her young, only son, Cole Russell and was a proud supporter in the Texas Youth ranch Rodeos. From her paintings to videos, to Barrel races accompanied by her mother/friends, she was the rock of our family and will be deeply missed. She was our beloved daughter and sister, devoted wife, mother and friend. Mika Turner was all of this and so much more. She loved her family and adored the many friends. Their western lifestyle, she cherished them all. Memorials may be made to the Mika Turner Texas Youth Ranch Rodeos Fund, First National Bank of Mexia, 301 E. Commerce, Mexia, Texas 76667, Ph,. 254-562-3821. Visistion with the family will b e 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Teague. Survivors are: Husband, Coy Russell Turner; Son, Cole Russell Turner; Mother, Vicki Smith; Father, Mike Little; Sisters, Kendal Anne Grunwald Owen and Sunni Jo Grunwald, and paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. A. N. (Boob) Little. Pallbearers are Daryle Copeland, Jeff Yates, Jamie Long, Lloyd Lane, Danny Clyde Turner and Terry Cotton. Honorary pallbearers are Clyde Turner, D. C. Turner, Randy Smith, J. R. McClelland and Gregg Smith.
