Mildred Hunt

Mildred Marie Hunt, 93, of Thornton passed away April 27, 2012 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 2PM,Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton with Rev. John Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Kosse Cemetery. Family visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Mildred was born February 8, 1919 in Thornton, Texas to Bruce W. and Clara M. Cox Jordan. She married Richard Eugene Hunt on January 24, 1948 in Houston, Texas. She owned and operated her only business, "Mildred's Place", for 20 years. She was a loving mother, special aunt and friend to many people. Mildred's nieces loved her like a Mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, John L. (Cotton) Jordan and Odalia M. McClinton. Mildred is survived by her son, Emory Lee Hunt of Thornton; two special nieces, Becky M. Sherrill of Groesbeck and Carolyn Railsback and husband, James of Kosse; and sister, Oma Jean Meyer of Marque; and those she considered her grandchildren, Timothy R. Railsback, Lt. Col. Matthew Hundley,Belinda S. Hundley Rhodes and Hayden Doc Sherrill. Pallbearers will be Hayden Doc Sherrill, Belinda Rhodes, Larry Rhodes, Rodney Wright, Jimmy Brown and Pat Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Hundley, Timothy Railsback, James Railsback and Joe Foreman.
