Mildred Thomas

Mildred Harris "Mickey" Thomas, 92, of Mount Calm, passed away April 10, 2013 in Mexia. Graveside services were held at 5PM, April 11, 2013 in the New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Michael Vestal officiating. Mickey was born July 4, 1920 near Teague, Texas to Llewllyn and Julia Ann Shaffer Harris. She was one of eleven children. She worked for various Livestock Auction Barns, including Groesbeck, Buffalo and Calvert. Mickey also owned and operated her own farm; she was no stranger to hard work. She enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Willard Oneal Thomas. Mickey is survived by her daughter, Donna Thomas Edwards and husband, Charles Lee McCasland of Richardson; son, Roy Oneal Thomas and wife, Jeannie of Mt. Calm; granddaughter, Kristan Ann Thomas of Mt. Calm; step-grandchildren, Stephaine Cline of Allen, Laura Tibbles of Carrollton, Vance Edwards of Navarre, FL, Tracy Murphy of Garland and Paige Graves of Jupiter, FL; nieces, Dina Mathison of Teague and Charslie Thompson of Donie; and best friend, Teresa Heil of Lake Limestone.
