Nelda Joyce Hogan, 58, of Cotton Gin passed away November 30, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Bro. Dennis Erwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Cotton Gin Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Joyce was born June 4, 1952 in Mexia, Texas to Vick "Bunk" and Coreta (Freeman) Watson. She has been a lifelong resident of Cotton Gin. Joyce was a nurse (LVN) for over 30 years. She has been at the Mexia State Supported Living Center for the last 20 years. Joyce was a caring and nurturing person, which was evident by her chosen profession and the love she had for her family. She loved nothing better than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce looked forward to her yearly vacation with her sisters, a tradition of many years. She loved to be outdoors in her garden and flower beds. She was also a skillful carpenter; a lady of many talents. She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Ronnie Watson. Joyce is survived by her mother, Coreta Watson of Cotton Gin; daughters, Mitzi Lou Daniel and husband, Trent and Brandy Coreta Anzelmo all of Cotton Gin; grandchildren, Justin and Hannah Matchett, Alexa and Ashlyn Anzelmo and Lindsey and Kyla Daniel; brother, Lonnie Watson of Cotton Gin; sisters, Jeanie Duncan, Carolyn York, Brenda Browne all of Cotton Gin and Glenda Duke of Lake Whitney; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends. Pallbearers will be Andy Morris, Jon Daniel, Monte Calame, Lonnie Mason, Ronald Watson and Jason Browne.
