Nelda Orr

Nelda Jean Orr passed away March 4, 2017 in Groesbeck at the age of 87. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Pastor Earl Sterling and Pastor Wes Willie officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. William Rogers, David Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Casey Purcell, Jimmy Rogers and Glen Dale Rogers, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Osbaldo Renovato, Daniel Thomas and Frank Strong. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Nelda was born December 21, 1929 in Dew, Texas to William Richard and Inez Cadenhead Moore. She worked at the Mexia Hospital for approximately 10 years. Nelda married her loving husband, William Franklin Orr, on December 7, 1980 in Mexia, Texas. Her love for God and her family were exemplified in the way she lived her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who never tired of doing for her family. She enjoyed reading, watching fireworks and would even ride a motorcycle occasionally. Nelda loved her church and church family. She was a member of the South McKinney Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Glen Dale Rogers and Carl Eugene Orr; sister, Betty Dansford; and brothers, William Ben Moore and Luis Moore. Nelda is survived by her husband, William Orr; sons, Richard B. Rogers, Kelly Gene Rogers and William David Orr; daughters, Marie Purcell, Frances Kilgore and Carolyn Sue Moore; grandchildren, William Rogers, David Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, Glen Dale Rogers, Jr., Sheena Shaw, Kelli Michele Rogers, Micah Michaela Renovato, Daniel Thomas, Nicholas Thomas, Brad Orr, Lauren Long, John Carl Orr, Casey Purcell, Kellie Harper and Frank Strong.
