Nina Lindley

Nina Ruth Trotter Lindley was born in Mexia , Texas, September 7, 1922 and passed away July 7, 2020 in New Braunfels, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Nina was the daughter of William and Mattie Trotter. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.E. (Bud) Lindley, parents Mattie and Will, sister Christine Archer, brother in law Fred Archer and nephew Bill Archer.

Nina is survived by two daughters Judy Lindley and Sue Stanford, son in law, Bob Stanford, grandsons, Aaron and Stephen, wife Kymberly. Nina is also blessed with five great-grandsons: Malachi, Isaiah, Judah, Benjamin and Daniel. Moreover, Nina is survived by nephew, Don Archer and wife Janice and their children, La Donna, Mike and Diana Sue, as well as her late nephew’s daughter, Tara Archer Johnson.

Nina and Bud married for over 50 years began their marriage in Corpus Christi, Texas. They moved from Corpus Christi to Waco where Bud was employed at James Connelly Air Base. Upon the closure of the base he transferred back to Corpus Christi, Naval Air Station. Bud, Nina, Sue and Judy settled there for many years. Upon Bud’s retirement and Nina’s semi-retirement they moved back to Mexia to be near family. Bud passed to heaven in 2000.

Nina and Bud loved their church, First Baptist Mexia. Nina had many friends in Corpus Christi, Waco and Mexia that she enjoyed throughout her life. She always looked forward to visiting with her Mexia High School class friends at their reunions.

Even after Bud’s death in 2000, Nina remained active. She was a member of several clubs, organizations and most importantly First Baptist Church. In the last several years she was a member under “watchcare” of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Seguin, Texas where her grandson pastored and presently her son-in-law is pastor. Nina’s family will miss her terribly but knowing of her secure faith and trust in Christ, understand it is not “goodbye” but “see you later” in heaven with our Creator and Lord.

The Stanford and Lindley families would like to thank Marcus Sheffield, Ann Talley and Jerri Jackson of FBC Mexia, Blair Stubbs Funeral Home Staff, friends including Brenda and Romie Ball and family.
