Nolan "Sonny" Henderson, 85, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2013. Funeral services will be 2PM, Friday, April 19, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1-2 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Sonny was born April 15, 1928 in Lost Prairie, Texas to Carlie and Bessie Vest Henderson. He lived and worked in the Mexia area most of his life. Sonny married Juanita Morton on February 1, 1946 in Groesbeck, Texas. He retired, after combining 50 years of service as a Warehouse Supervisor, from the Mexia Textile Mill and Hobbs Bonded Fibers. Sonny was devoted to his family and serving the Lord. Papaw, as he was also known, especially, enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson, J.D. He had a great sense of humor, outgoing personality, never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He was a longtime active member of the Northside Baptist Church in Mexia. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Esther Mae, Euna Faye and Clara Ann. Sonny is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Henderson of Mexia: daughter, Donna Quaca of Mexia; Brian Keith Quaca and wife, Stephanie Lynn of Old Union; great-grandson, J.D. Quaca of Old Union; brothers, Edsel Henderson and wife, Dorothy of Mexia, Troy Henderson and wife, Myrtle of Pasadena and Ray Gene Henderson and wife, Ruth of Mexia; twin sister, Novie Allen of Pasadena and sister, Roma Dell Gilliam and husband, Bobby Joe of Robinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Mike Morton, Spike Morton, Tommy Morton, Tom Quaca, Jerry Allen, Jared Hardin and Kevin Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Morton, Jason Morton, Jeff Lummus, Clint Morton, Huey Henderson, Larry Henderson and the Northside Baptist Men's Class..
