Mr. Norris Loyed Dabney, Sr., 82, of Mexia, passed away Wednesday July 18, 2007 in Mexia. Mr. Dabney was born December 30, 1924 in Dawson to William D. and Alma Mamie Shanault Dabney. Mr. Dabney was a Baptist and was retired from road construction. He was a lifelong resident of Mexia. Mr. Dabney was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Nell Foley Dabney in 1988, his brothers and sisters, Oakell David Dabney, Ira Lee Dabney, Lera Mae Boykin, Joyce Johnson and Pauline Nix. Survivors include his Sons and daughters-in-law, Norris and Dixie Dabney, Robin and Kim Dabney, Johnny and Ann Dabney, Terry and Becky Dabney and Wesley and Rosa Dabney, all of Mexia, 21 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, James Eugene Dabney of Houston and Rule D. (Jack) Dabney of Italy, TX, and by sisters, Betty Funderburk Nipp of Mexia, Georgia Carroll of Mexia and Helen Worthey of San Antonio. Graveside funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, July 21, 2007 in the New Hope cemetery in Limestone County. Kenneth Hutchison will officiate at the service. Pallbearers will be Cory Adkins, Don High, Leon Dabney, John Adkins, Jeramiah Dabney and Tracy Quaid. Visitaion with the family will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
