Ollie Mann

Ollie Ruth Mann, 96, of Prairie Hill passed away March 16, 2013 in Mart, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:30AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in the Coolidge Cemetery Chapel in Coolidge, Texas with Rev. Fred Sain officiating. Interment will be in the Coolidge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m, Monday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Ollie Ruth was born March 3, 1917 in Coolidge, Texas to David Samuel and Myrtle Sills Bardin. She married J.C. Mann on December 20, 1941 in Limestone County. Ollie Ruth and JC "Doodie" farmed together for many years, and worked at the Mexia State School. She retired from the Mexia State School after 19 years of service. Ollie Ruth devoted her life to God and her family. She enjoyed gardening and cooking for family, friends and Sills' reunions, fishing and berry picking with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The many beautiful quilts she made are treasured by her family. Ollie Ruth donated dozens of her quilts for fundraisers and church auctions. She was a longtime member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. Mann; and brother, Jack Bardin. Ollie Ruth is survived by her sons, Robert Allen Mann and wife, Mary of Robinson and James Cary Mann and wife, Mary of Mart; grandchildren, Robyn Hayley and husband, Scott, Chase Mann and wife, Kim, Megan Jaska and husband, Jimmy, Cari Hammer and husband, Chris, Jamie Mann and wife, Nikki; great-grandchildren, Connar. Garrett and Channing Foreman, Azlee and Clayton Mann, Addison and Grant Hammer, Ryleigh Land, and Braylee and Dalynn Mann; sisters, Ruby Jewel Hodges and Juanita Forrester; sister-in-law, Betty Bardin; and many nieces and nephews.. Pallbearers will be John Chase Mann, Scott Hayley, Robert Connar Foreman, Jamie Mann, Jimmy Jaska and Chris Hammer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Prairie Hill Baptist Church or Coolidge Cemetery Association.
