Mr. Otis Denton, 92, passed away August 13, 2008 in Mexia, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Post Oak Cemetery near Fairfield. Mr. Ray Jones officiated. Visitation with the family will be 5-7:00 p.m. Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Mr. Denton was born in Lillie, Louisiana on September 30, 1915 to Wilson Hilliard and Lou (McCoy) Denton. He had only lived in Mexia for the last 4 years. His home was in Freestone County where he owned and operated a farm. Mr. Denton served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Post Oak Baptist Church in Freestone County and the Oddfellow Lodge in Fairfield. Mr. Denton is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Myers of Mexia and a son, Charles Ronald Denton of Venus, Texas; three grandchildren, Audra Ann Knowles of Robinson, Angel M. Brown of Medford, Oklahoma and Krystal Snodgrass of Enid, Oklahoma; nine great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ethel Bell (Lambert) Denton, two brothers and one sister.
