Pat Henry Neill died on March 16, 2010 at the age of 72 at the Crescent Place Memory Care Center in Cedar Hill, Texas. He was born in Wills Point, Texas on December 20, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents George Dempsey Neill and Irma Jane Cooksey Neill, his brothers Billy George Neill and Bobby Joe Neill, his sister Peggy Jane Neill Ellison, mother-in-law, Betty Fitzgerald, and brother in law Bill Ellison. He is survived by his wife, Ann, brother John Dempsey Neill, sister in law Helen Byers Neill, sister in law Shirley Neill Hanes, brother in law Samuel Earl Hanes, sister in law Wanda Copeland Neill,brother in law, Joe Masso, sister in law, Jan Masso, brother in law, Scott Ramsey, sister in law, Nan Ramsey, brother in law, Joey Fitzgerald, sister in law, Angie Fitzgerald, father in law, Joe Fitzgerald, son Michael Neill, daughter in law Jennifer Neill, daughter Kathryn Neill Woods, son in law Paul Woods, daughter Lane Neill Jauregui, son in law Ignacio Jauregui, and grandchildren Jessica Neill, Austin Neill, Aubrey Woods and Abby Woods, tons of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He started his banking career in Dallas at Mercantile Bank, continued banking in Rusk, worked at the First State Bank in Athens, served as Vice President of East Texas National Bank of Palestine, and ended his career as President of First Mexia Bank. He attended Southern Methodist University where he played football as an All-American tight end from 1958 to 1961 with football legend Don Meredith. He loved nothing more than being outdoors, hunting and spending time with his beloved family and friends. For the last 2-1/2 years he was taken care of by the wonderful people of Crescent Place and by his sister in law Nan Ramsey. Visitation Services will be Thursday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Funeral Services will be at the First United Methodist Church of Mexia at 10:00 am Friday with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Private Burial will follow at Wills Point White Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Bolton, Michael Miller, James Dawley, Terry Don Shivers, George Tidwell, Joe Crutcher and Cliff Williams.
