Pat Simmons

Pat Lynn Simmons, 71, of Lanely, passed away August 8, 2013 at his home in Lanely. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Pat was born July 18, 1942 in Teague, Texas to Normie Earl and Selma Clyde Johnson Simmons. He had been a resident of the Freestone County area most of his life. Pat proudly served and retired from the U. S. Army after 22 years of service. After retirement from the Army, he worked for TXU and TDCJ. Pat was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his time with his family. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, woodcarving and cooking (excellent cook). He had a friendly and outgoing personality and a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Patricia Ann Simmons. Pat is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Simmons; children, Jerry Earl Simmons and Joe David Simmons; step-children, Tony Cummings, Dawn Smitson and Mickey Cummings; grandchildren, Brandy Leigh DeFrance, Amanda Marie Simmons, David Warren Simmons, Amelia Nicole Simmons Wells and Joshua David Simmons; step-grandchildren, Hannah and Emily Cummings, Vonnetti Griffin, Crystal Graham, Steve Smitson, William and Amber Cummings.
