Patricia Ann Jones

Patricia Ann Henderson Jones of The Colony, Texas, sadly passed away on December 15, 2021, in Carrollton, Texas. Services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in the chapel at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia, Texas. Reverend Shane Norcross will be officiating. Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Mexia City Cemetery.

Patricia, known as Pat by her friends and family, was born on August 15, 1943 to Lester and Allie Lee Henderson of Lost Prairie, Texas. She was raised in Mexia and graduated from Mexia High School. Pat worked hard for many years as a secretary at Texas Paper Company in Dallas, Texas. As her career advanced, she worked in the insurance industry before retiring. Pat was a giving person and was loved by many. She enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, sailing the world on cruise ships, and visiting her family in Mexia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Henderson and Allie Lee Henderson; her three brothers, Kenneth Elby Henderson, Gerald Dean Henderson, and Lester Ray Henderson; and most recently by her sister, Delight Clary.

Pat is survived by her son, Joe David Chappell and his wife, Kay Chappell, of Carrollton, Texas; her sole grandson, Addison Jared Chappell, of Columbia, Maryland; her sister, Dora Jo McCurrin of Waco, Texas; sister-in-law, Marinel Henderson of Robinson, Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone who helped Pat in her life and all the love and kindness they showed her in recent months. She is now at peace and reunited with her loving family. The family asks that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans in honor of Pat’s father, who proudly served the United States during World War II.
