Paul Madison Feix,79, of Mexia passed away August 2, 2012 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 2PM, Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Ken Lane officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Paul was born September 26, 1932 in Cynthiana, Kentucky to George and Dorcus Brown Feix. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1973 after two tours of duty in Vietnam and receiving his R. N. degree. Paul began his R.N. career at the Mexia State School and retired in 2005 after 32 years of service. He married Jean Tucker on November 23, 1994. Paul's love his Lord, family and others were evident in his life. He enjoyed working in his church, nursing, being a reserve police officer, woodwork and just being able to serve others. He was a longtime active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mexia. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Sarah Jo Poe; brothers, Billy Wayne, Russell and Brown Feix; and sisters, Jane Stump and Patsy Crum. Paul is survived by his wife, Jean of Mexia; three children, Sheila Poe and husband, Gary of Corsicana, Rodney Paul Feix and wife, Carol of Fort Mills, SC, and Chery Story and husband, Louis of Cowpens, SC; step-son, Chris McCulloch and wife, Tammy of Mexia; grandchildren, Josh Poe and wife, Amanda, Stacie Feix and husband Ryan Lenhoff, Brandon Feix, Brett, Kasey and Courtney Story; step-grandchildren, Jackson, Kirkland and Alexander McCulloch; great-grandchildren, Eli and Wyatt Story, Gavin Lenhoff, Eric Allen, Cole and Katie Poe; brother, Darl Feix and wife, Rita of Cynthiana, KY; sisters, Carol Florence of Greeley CO and Kay Bailey of Riverside, CA. Pallbearers will be Jess Whisler, Mike Bell, Dennis Wilson, Courtney Spivey, Alden Garber and Jackson McCulloch. Honorary pallbearers will be Mexia Police Department and Limestone County Sheriff office employees.
