Paul was born December 11, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to Jerald and Kathryn Bell McHargue. After 42 years of owning and operating convenient stores in Grand Prairie and Irving, he retired and moved to his ranch in Richland. He loved the country, and, working on his ranch was more pleasure than work, he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Paul was a loving and dedicated son, father, and brother. Family was a very important part of his life; in his sons’ eyes, he was an excellent father and wonderful role model. He had an outgoing personality, enjoyed meeting people and, as a result, became friends with many.
Although Paul was born in the city, he was truly a country boy through and through. He was a fan of old westerns, especially, John Wayne movies. He also had a love for Braum’s cheeseburgers and a strawberry malt to go with it. He was also a hunter and enjoyed going to Colorado to hunt Elk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald and Kathryn McHargue; and sister, Denise Gillentine.
Paul is survived by his significant other, Martha Williams; his sons, Andrew McHargue and fiancé, Jill Brake and Frank Leyva and wife, Tracy; stepdaughter, Melanie Mayo; brother, David McHargue and wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Loralie, Hannah, Silas, and Allison Leyva and Josh Mills; nieces and nephews, Crystal Tucker and husband, Donny, Rebecca Coon and husband, Jon; Matthew Isabell, and Trevor McHargue and girlfriend, Lesley; and many friends.
