Paula Jean Carrier, 68, of Seabrook, Texas passed away on March 13, 2024. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Lost Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating.
Paula was born April 17, 1955 in Freeport, Texas to Percy and Frances (Babe) Sims Carrier. After graduating from Brazoswood High School in Lake Jackson/Clute, she continued her education, graduating from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches Texas with a BS in Chemistry and Biology and continued studies and received a Masters degree in Chemistry.
Paula spent her entire working career as a chemist in several chemical plants in the Baytown area. These plants included ARCO, Baychem, Inc., Celanese, and Sekisui Specialty Chemicals. She enjoyed traveling to Japan for her job and shared memories and stories of the people she met. Paula retired in 2018 to care for her sister Nancy, who was dealing with cancer. Nancy soon passed and left Paula with a lot of time on her hands. She filled most of it on her cell phone with her best friend by her side, Ellie, a rescue dog she loved dearly. She was an avid political voice to Congressmen and women, both State and Federal. She wrote letters and sent e-mails to them on every issue, mostly bad issue in her opinion, hoping to make a small difference.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Frances (Babe) Carrier, sister, Nancy Carrier, sister, Jan Spencer, and brother, Jerry Carrier.
She is survived by her sister Peggy Walker and husband, Larry of Lost Prairie; niece, Trish Kubitza and husband, Bobby of Mart; nephew, Bubba Walker of Lost Prairie; great nephews, Jacob Kubitza, Logan Kubitza, Blake Walker (Samantha), Brady Walker (Stephanie), Jeff Spencer, Marc Spencer; great niece Brylee Walker; great great nieces, Bristol Walker and Hazel Jane Thompson; and great great nephews, Weston Walker and Brooks Walker.
