Pauline Slaughter, 87, entered her heavenly home on May 19, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Frederico Asesor officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-7 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home; Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Dwight Mahoney officiating. Pauline was born September 18, 1926 in Bremond, Texas to Martin and Janie Lott Kwasnica. She and William Floyd Slaughter, II were united in marriage on November 8, 1948. They moved to Mexia in 1981 and opened an antique business, known as the Yellow Wagon. Pauline and Floyd enjoyed traveling and working puzzles, as well as buying and selling antiques. However, she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family; God and family came first in her life. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mexia. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ignatius Kwasnica. Pauline is survived by four children, Robert Slaughter and wife, Paulette of Waco, Jayne Johnson and husband, Bayne of Mexia, Joyce Slaughter of Spring and William Floyd "Billy" Slaughter and wife, Brenda of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sister Malvina Kwasnica of Rio Rancho, NM, Helen Krzes of Spring, Margie Carroll of Bethesda, MD, Margaret Foster of Spring and Mary Jane Wayt of Shreveport, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Christopher Baker, Matthew Baker, Michael Baker, Jeffery Baker, Jacorey McMillian and Robert Jennings.
