Randell Armstrong, 62, of Athens passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Tyler. Randell was born November 21, 1949 in Groesbeck to Ollie G. and Vera Estelle Henson Armstrong. He retired from Sprint Telephone Co. (formerly Gulf States) after over 40 years of service. He was a member of the Dogwood Baptist Church in Athens. Randell was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bobby and Gene Armstrong. He is survived by his wife, Paula Black Armstrong of Athens, Daughter and son-in-law, Malissa and Zach Windrow of Hondo, Texas, son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Nicole Armstrong of Athens, three grandchildren, Emily, James and Kate Windrow, Brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Hattie Armstrong of Mexia, Sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Jerry McPherson of Moody and Treletta and Bill Dunlap of McGregor. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Alvin Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Limestone County. Visitation with the family will be from 11:30 until service time on Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be Butch Hughes, Danny Bosley, Brian Chrisner, Darin McPherson, Barry McPherson and Clay Dale Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers will be Miles McPherson, Chase Chrisner, Eddie Chrisner and Jerry McPherson. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
