Rebecca Christine Encenia, of Richardson, Texas entered her heavenly home on April 27, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 25, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Robert C. Gonzales and Christine S. Rodriquez. She was employed by Dale Tile for over 20 years prior to retirement.
Rebecca’s family will always remember her as the “greatest” mom, grandmother, and sister ever. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them; they were her life. She also considered her dogs, Lilly and Hershey, as her extended family. Rebecca enjoyed dancing with her kids and family members, playing board games with the grandchildren, playing with her dogs, and reading books.
Rebecca will be remembered as humble, kind and her great love for Jesus Christ. Rebecca had a special gift, despite her own disabilities and life challenges she shared her great light and love for her younger sister Patricia Rodriquez with similar disabilities. Rebecca loved and guided Patricia throughout her life by spending lots of time with her. Rebecca had a great ability to overcome many challenges in her life through love, joy, optimism and her love for others. She was a remarkable testimony for all that knew her.
Rebecca was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church – Dallas.
Rebecca’s motto was “Live For Today”! She was a true believer in doing just that, as she did try to enjoy her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Gonzales and Christine Rodriquez; and sister Veronica Aguilar
Rebecca is survived by her children, Gabriel Patino, Eliza Luevano, and Roberto Patino, Jr.; grandchildren, Rebekah A. Luevano and Gloria A. Luevano; siblings, Sylvia A. Rivas, Mary E. Pascoe, Robert Gonzales, Jr., Rachel Gonzales Martinez, Juanita Gonzales Mendoza, Gloria Rodriquez, and Patricia Rodriquez; several nieces and nephews; and her companions, Lilly and Hershey.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Pastor Enrique Ramirez officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Gabriel Patino, Robert Patino, Robert Gonzales, Jr. and Jorge Azpeitia will serve as pallbearers.
