Richard Lee Eberle, 71, of Mexia passed away January 30, 2010 in Mexia. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Richard was born July 13, 1938 in Houston, Texas to Frank A. Eberle, Jr. and Imogene C. (Schuelke) Eberle. He retired from Lubrizol Corporation as a Chemical Operator after 32 years. Richard served on the Deer Park and Kenefick Volunteer Fire Department as President and Assistant Fire Chief before retiring. His passion was to Bar-B-Que for family and friends. Richard was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, and a good friend to many. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mexia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne (Sims) Eberle of Mexia, sons, Frank Alton Eberle and wife, Carol of Dayton, Tx. and Randal Lee Eberle and daughter-in-law to be, Amanda Wyatt of Mexia; grandchildren, Alton Cole "Ace", Courtney Denise, and Austin Grant Eberle and Marshall Wyatt; brother, William Charles Eberle and wife, Jeannie of Houston; and sister, Virginia Sabayrac of Brenham. Pallbearers will be Keith Mays, Chris Mays, Ace Eberle, Austin Eberle, Wayne Sims and Andy Day. Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Wyatt and his Sunday School Class, The Fishermen. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Pre-school Fund.
