Richard Kestler, Sr.

Richard Walton Kestler, Sr., 77, of Groesbeck passed away March 30, 2012 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 2PM, Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Oletha Church with Bro. Bill Sutton officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Richard was born April 26, 1934 in Charleston, South Carolina to Walter Leon and Mary Martin Kestler. He married Joyce Marie Thomas on September 14, 1962 in Galveston, Texas. He was a self-employed carpenter. Richard served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Joyce in 2005. Richard is survived by four children, Richard Walton Kestler, Jr., Rickey Kestler, Debbie Lynn Lenox and Dawn Marie Favors; grandchildren, Brittney Adame, Jennifer and Lisa Lenox, Chelse and Joseph Favors and Josh and Nick Kestler; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Bernard Kestler and wife, Donna. Pallbearers will be Arlis Ray Winstead, Keith Tumlinson, Clint Thomas, Justin Duke, Joe Towers and Kendell Martin.
