Robert Spence

Robert Lynn Spence passed away August 11, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 64. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Deacon Dwight Mahoney officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00 prior to the service. Robert was born February 14, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Fred and Retha Spence. He retired from the City of Houston Communication Department after many years of service. He also worked as a Realtor. Robert's family was his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a good provider. He was a hard worker and willing to do whatever it took to take care of his family. Robert made every effort to make the most of life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, barbecuing, cooking and traveling. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed recreational flying. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marilyn Longoria; and sister, Sharon Gail Dick. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Jo Spence of Houston; children, Carolyn Ellison, Gerald Longoria and wife, Sara, Manuel Longoria, III and wife, Carrie, Elisa Longoria and husband, Juan and Jacqueline Ellison Lopez; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
