Ronnie Burrows

Ronnie H. Burrows, 80, of Mexia, passed away April 14, 2014 in Waco, Texas. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the Mexia Cemetery with Reverend Marcus Sheffield and Brother Shane Winters officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mr. Burrows was born Feb. 14, 1934 in Corsicana to Ralph and Odell Robbins Burrows. He received a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a petroleum engineer degree from LSU. He was an independent oil and gas consultant and continued to work up until the time of his death. In his free time, Ronnie enjoyed yard work and gardening. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Janis Hudson Burrows. Survivors include three children, Rocky Burrows of Rockport, Lee Burrows of Orange Grove and Robin Shugart of Merkel, grandchildren, Rocky Burrows, II of Ruidosa, NM, Erin Burrows Diegel of Orange Grove, Tyler Burrows of San Antonio and Haley Shugart of Austin. He is further survived by his sister Nanilla Elliott of Frisco.
