Ruby Collier

Rubye Jane Oakes Collier, 96, of Irving passed away January 5, 2012 in Irving, Texas. Graveside services will be 2PM, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Oakes Cemetery in Limestone County. Rubye was born August 26, 1915 in Groesbeck, Texas to Phelon E. and Cynthia Jane Oakes. She graduated from Fair Oakes High School and Business College. She was a retired Realtor and Apartment Manager. Rubye was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Irving. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jackson Collier; sister, Nora Elizabeth Ainsworth; and three brothers, Archie, George and Amos Oakes. Rubye is survived by a son, Dane L. Collier; a stepson, Jackson "Jackie" Collier; granddaughter, Ivy Collier; and two nephews, Alan Herring and Gilbert Oakes.
