Rudolph Morris “Rudy” Tisdale, a devout Christian and an avid runner, fought the good fight and completed his final race on September 20, 2024 as he entered his heavenly home from his earthly home in Waco, Texas.
Rudy was born June 10, 1940 in Duluth, Minnesota to Rudolph Murphy and Sophie (Edstrom) Tisdale. He received degrees from the University of Wisconsin, the University of Cincinnati, and a degree in Theology from Temple Baptist College. Rudy also served his country as a Lieutenant in the US Army. He retired from GE Aircraft Engines after 40-plus years of service as an Aerospace Engineer.
Rudy married Rebecca “Diane” Maden on March 24th,1967 in Houston, TX. They were blessed with two children, Sheri and Stephen. His life revolved around his love for God and family. He studied his Bible, faithfully, beginning in the early morning of each day. Rudy served as deacon, taught Sunday School classes, and participated in numerous other roles in his church; he loved the Lord and loved serving Him. His most important role as a father was to teach his children about God and raise them in a Christian home. Rudy’s love for God and family was exemplified by the way he lived his life.
Rudy was an avid runner, participating in many marathons and other races over the years. He never lost his desire to learn, especially math; he was always seeking new algebra classes to take even until recently. Rudy made the most of his life and enjoyed it to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Rudolph and Sophie Tisdale; and siblings, Marcia Koszuta, Dorsey Tisdale, and Mary Bohn.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Diane Tisdale of Waco; children, Sheri (Eddie) Burns of Waco and Stephen (Andrea)Tisdale of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Jackson and Jace Burns; and sister, Elizabeth (Paul) Petroff.
