Sandra G. “Sandi” Waldrop-McKissack, of Lake Mexia, passed away December 19, 2020 in Victoria, Texas at the age of 68.  A Celebration of Life service will be likely be held in the Spring, her favorite time of the year.

Sandi was born December 1, 1952 in Mexia, Texas to Billy George Waldrop, Sr. and Clara June Jones Waldrop.  She was a graduate of Mexia High School, Class of 1971.  She attended Navarro College and took courses in Fashion Merchandising at Sam Houston State University.  Prior to retiring, she worked for Pegasus as a Purchasing Manager and for Levantina as an Inventory Control Manager.

Sandi was a devoted mother, sister, and MeMe.  She loved her family and, especially, loved her role as MeMe; the grandchildren were truly special.  Sandi’s extended family included her two dogs that she dearly loved, Lucy and Cassie.

Spending time gardening, or any form of outside activities, was her favorite time to communicate with God and admire the country he has created.  Sandi was very talented in different types of crafts and an avid quilter.  She was always friendly and enjoyed interacting with people.  Sandi, also, loved her church and church family; she was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Coolidge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Clara June Waldrop; and husband, Hollis O. McKissack.

Sandi is survived by her dearest friend and constant companion, Kathryn Dowdle and Godson, James Dowdle; children, Andy Russell and wife, Micah, Holley Bowman and husband, Adrian, Bryant Rasbeary and wife, Jewel, Suzanne Cotton and husband, Jimmie, Sharon Carlisle and husband, Mitch, and Dale Rasbeary; brothers, Bill Waldrop, Jr. and Larry Waldrop; sister, Leah Henderson; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pets, Lucy and Cassie.
