Sharon was born July 8, 1945 in Amherst, Texas to Edward Garfield and Cleo Pearl (Cook) Woods. She married Billy Jeff “Bill” Booth on December 21, 1974 in Longview, Texas, and they were blessed with one son, Brian. After Sharon received her dental hygiene certification from Kilgore Junior College, she worked as a dental hygienist at the Mexia State School, retiring after 34 years of service.
After Sharon and Bill moved to Mexia in June 1977, they became members of the Lions' and Lionesses' Clubs and of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir. Sharon’s life revolved around serving the Lord, loving her family, and helping others. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her proudest accomplishments were receiving her bachelor's degree and becoming a grandmother.
Other interests in Sharon’s life were singing, crocheting, puzzles, games, playing dominos with friends, coloring books, and in her younger years, she was passionate about theatre. Trips and visits with family and the grandkids were among her fondest memories.
Sharon believed that the greatest lesson in life was “the way to a happy life is to love and forgive.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pearl Woods.
