Shelton Jasper McDonald, of Buffalo, passed away in Teague, Texas on April 2, 2020 at the age of 77. A private graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2020 in the Dew Cemetery with Pastor Carl Clark officiating. Roger Rotge, Robert Starr, Will Barber and Jasper House will serve as pallbearers.
Shelton was born February 12, 1943 in Forrest City, Arkansas to Jasper and Evelyn Taylor McDonald. Although he worked in several different jobs, prior to retirement, he was primarily a mechanic.
Shelton’s life revolved around his family; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Due to his concern for his family, he had the tendency to be overly protective in many ways. Shelton possessed the “Old Fashion Values” as a way of life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, collecting guns, watching old westerns and was a big fan of John Wayne. He was also, an excellent mechanic and loved working on cars.
Shelton was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Dew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Evelyn McDonald; son, William McDonald; brothers, Charles, Lee, Robert and Shelby McDonald; and sister, Irene Nelson.
Shelton is survived by his loving wife, Debra McDonald; daughters, Jimmie Rotge and husband, Roger, Shawnda Starr and husband, Robert, Joy Ender and husband, Jeff and Michelle Barber and husband, Will; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Jean McDonald; and a number of nieces and nephews.
