Steven Glen Kennedy, 49, of rural Groesbeck passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at his residence. Steven was born October 29, 1962 in Kaufman, Texas to Gerald Wayne and LaVerne Reagan Kennedy. He had lived in the area for the past 32 years and had been a truck driver and cement finisher. At the time of his death he was the manager of the Fort Parker R.V. Park. Steven attended the United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services for Steven will be 3PM Friday, August 17, 2012 at the New Life Tabernacle with Brother Brett Prince and Brother Gill Ash officiating. Burial will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon, Friday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Justin Rogers, Joshua Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Michael Lopez, Jonathon Abshire and Chris Anderson. Survivors include his parents, Gerald W. and LaVerne Kennedy of Mexia; children, Amber Ellis and husband, John Ellis, II of Mexia, Heather Kilgore of Mexia, Bradley Kennedy and wife, Staci of Mexia and Scott Kennedy and wife, Eunice of Mexia; grandchildren: John Ellis, III, Shelby Kilgore, Jadely Kennedy, Amber Kilpatrick and, Kelsey Kilpatrick; siblings: Gerald Wayne Kennedy Jr., of Temple, Shelia Kennedy Wills and husband, Patrick of West Monroe, LA and Janet Burmaster of Mexia. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and by his two best friends, Buddy and Brownie.
