Tammie Ward

Tammie D. Ward, of Prairie Hill, passed away November 15, 2017 at the age of 52. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Cotton officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 PM, Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Tammie was born December 26, 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama to Dock Sullivan and Peggy Baker Sullivan. She married her loving husband, Jerry Ward, on December 21, 1996 in Cleburne, Texas. They later, moved to Prairie Hill where she thoroughly enjoyed raising and riding horses. She was an active member of a Riding Club and competed in Barrel Racing for many years. Tammie was also an excellent pool player and, while on a trip to Las Vegas, got the opportunity to compete there. Tammie enjoyed many activities, but nothing could compare to spending time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She loved all her family but, as most grandparents, her grandchildren were truly special. Tammie was Christian and member of the Cowboy Heritage Church in Freestone County. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Sullivan; and grandson, Karsyn Wright. Tammie is survived by her husband, Jerry Ward of Prairie Hill; two sons, Ty Wright and wife, Jessica of Orange Beach, AL and Sky Wright and wife, Paige of Waco; six grandchildren, Elliot, Abigail, Emery, Parker, Gentry and Oaklyn; father, Dock Sullivan and wife, Loria of Citronelle, AL; brothers, Mark and Chuck Sullivan; and sisters, Tresa and husband, Dannie Hutchison, Cigi Davis, Lorna and Katresa Sullivan.
