Thelma Ruby Forsythe, 90, of Mexia passed away April 11, 2009 in Mexia. Funeral services for Mrs. Forsythe will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate with interment to follow in the Wortham Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Monday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Thelma was born to Jim L. and Blanche Deming Langston in Wortham, Texas on March 24, 1919. She was a graduate of Wortham High School. Thelma was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother and spent her life caring for her family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Mexia and a member of the Eastern Star of Wortham, Texas for 50 plus years. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charlie H. Forsythe; her parents and her sister, Ida Laird Jones. She is survived by two sons, James Larry "Jim" Forsythe and wife, Doris of Waxahachie, Texas and Phil Forsythe and wife, Anna of Richmond, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Mathison of Hubbard, Texas; grandchildren, Theda and Gary McGrew, Misty and Michael Pratt, Amy and Chad Gilstrap and Emily Forsythe; seven great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a brother, James C. Langston of Corpus Christi, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ira Mathison, Gary McGrew, Chad Gilstrap, Michael Pratt, Steve Langston and Mike Langston.
