Thelma Lavette Teer, 79, of Shiloh passed March 5, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 11AM, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Neil Bond officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Lavette was born February 12, 1934 in Shiloh to Thomas Alfred and Nora Etta Wood McElroy. She married Jodie Teer on February 9, 1952 in Mexia. God and her family were the focus and inspirations in her life. Lavette loved family gatherings, spoiling her grandchildren and working in her yard and flower garden. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Jodie Teer; sisters, Anna Beth Wells and Bessie Thomas; and brother, Alfred M. McElroy. Lavette is survived by her four children, Laura Teer and Frank Leonard, Debbie English and husband, John, Rick Teer and wife, Carla and Jamie Teer and wife, Jovonna; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Bernie McElroy; and sister, Tommie Wells; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Slater, Matt Harbes, Nick Harbes, Shane Teer, Jeff O'Dwyer and Andy Harbes.
