Thomas Eugene "Thom" Edwards, Jr.

Thomas Eugene “Thom” Edwards, Jr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2025 at the age of 63. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 27, 2025 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home  with Pastor Anthony Thibodeaux officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Seth Edwards, Adam Naumann, Brett Edwards, Robert Busby, Zack Rothrock, and Travis McAlister, III will serve as pallbearers.

Thom was born on August 10, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas to Thomas Eugene and Mary Belle (Ingram) Edwards. As a young man, he and his family traveled throughout the United States and Turkey due to his dad’s Army career. Several years ago, he returned to his mother’s hometown, Mexia, and Tehuacana area, where he made his home. He met and married his wife, Tina (Cox) Edwards on, October 31, 2015.

Thom had a big heart, outgoing personality, and enjoyed helping others. He loved the Lord, his family, and many friends. He was an active member of God’s House of Deliverance. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He really enjoyed time with his family and loved spoiling the grandkids. 

Helping people gave Thom much pleasure, whether it was taking people to Dr. appointments, repairing things around the house, or in any way possible. Whenever possible, he and Tina loved going to their favorite place, the beach. He also enjoyed music, singing, and the theater.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas “Ed” Edwards; and brothers-in-law, Reyburn Ruhl and James G. Simmons, Jr.

Thom is survived by his mother, Mary Edwards; wife, Tina Edwards; children, Seth Edwards and Katrina Garza, Thera Edwards and Jose Rios, Brett Edwards and Tara Veselka, Rebecca Rothrock and husband, Zack, Travis McAlister, III and wife, Cara, and Melody Naumann and husband, Adam; grandchildren, Joseph Rothrock, Lorilei Rothrock, Marcus Garza, Allie Naumann, Remington Naumann, Bobbi Naumann, Robin Rios, and Annika Edwards-Veselka; sisters, Belinda Moreau, Marlene Simmons, and Sherry Ruhl; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
