Thomas McNatt, Jr.

Thomas Webb McNatt, Jr., passed away peacefully on the 17th of March in Waco, Texas, at the age of 86. In 1925, Tom was born in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, to Gladys and Tom McNatt, Sr. The family soon settled in Mexia, Texas, where he attended school. Tom joined the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Copahee as a radar operator in the Pacific Fleet during World War II. Upon his discharge, Tom graduated from Baylor University, married Elton Joe Tripp and began his successful 35 year career with G.M.A.C. He retired to Waco and became a dedicated member of First Woodway Baptist Church, President of the Senior Men's Bible Study class and an avid fisherman. Tom was an amazing son, brother, husband, Father and friend who will greatly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Gladys McNatt, his wife Elton Joe McNatt, and infant daughter, Theresa McNatt. Mr. McNatt is survived by his brother, Jack McNatt; sister, JoNell Trumble and husband Gene; daughter Shauna Boehm and husband Dana; sons, Tommy McNatt and wife Karen, Tim McNatt; grandchildren, Jason Baker and wife, Alison, Leah Baker, Morgan McNatt, and Shannon McNatt; and very special friend, Laura Tynes. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 21, First Woodway Baptist Church, 101 Ritchie Road, Woodway, Texas, with the service at 1:30 P.M.with Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Interment to follow at 4:00 P.M., Mexia Cemetery, Mexia, Texas with Rev. Marcus Sheffield officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Baker, Steve Hill, Jeff McNatt, Nigel Walker, Wesley Willard, Bob Kreuzburg, Dana Boehm. Members of his Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tom's name to the American Heart Association or charity of choice.
