Thomas Louin Sawyer, Sr., 83, of Arlington passed away September 12, 2011 in Mansfield, Texas. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Union Cemetery, Freestone County, Texas with Mr. Neil Bond officiating. Thomas was born September 15, 1927 in Mexia, Texas to Louin and Trixie McCarty Sawyer. He was a graduate of Mexia High School. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. During this time, he also served in the Korean War. Thomas, also, retired from LTV after 20 years as an Industrial Engineer. His hobby was traveling. He and his wife, Louise, were collectors of vaseline glass and antiques. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Thomas was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Reba Bond Sawyer (41 yrs.) and Louise Dees Sawyer (13 yrs.); and ten siblings. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Pam Knight and husband, David of Arlington; son, Thomas Sawyer, Jr. and wife, Marissa; step-children, Donnie Dees and wife, Pahla, Ann Williams and husband, Barry, Kenny Dees and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Jeff and Patrick Knight, Trey, Christi and Amy Sawyer; six great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Sawyer and wife, Joyce of Arlington and Marion Sawyer and wife, Nancy of Austin.
