Mr. Thomas Dwyght Spraggins, 89, of Teague and Victoria passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011, in Victoria. He was born March 5, 1922 in Alexander City, Alabama to Jonah Thomas and Claudia Estelle Moody Spraggins. During his working career, he was a top salesman for Binswanger Glass Co. and later opened his own glass business in Houston and was known for his expert craftsmanship. After the sale of his glass business, he helped his wife, Bea, with the operation of her beauty college in Victoria. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Edna Peterson Spraggins, step-son, Bill Flaharty and step-grandsons, David and Douglas Flaharty. He is survived by his wife, Bea, Daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Marvin Smith of Hallettsville, Step-sons and spouses, Pat and Iris Flaharty, of Cedar Creek Lake and Mike and Annie Flaharty of Cedar Creek Lake, Grandchildren, Debra Smith and Terry Smith of Hallettsville, Step-Grandson, Troy Flaharty, Great Grandchildren, Lauren McCaskill, Hannah Smith and Alex McCaskill, Step Great-Grandson Wesley Flaharty and Brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Betty Spraggins of Murphy. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM, Monday, August 15, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Teague with the Reverend Scott Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood cemetery in Teague. Pallbearers will be Bob James, Troy James, Gardner Brown, Chelmer Satterwhite, David Cobb and Joe Max Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Marshall Wiener, Marvin Smith, Bill May, Raymond Trevenio, Dennis Kaddatz, Art Ortiz, Tamy Martin and all the Men of the First Baptist Church of Teague. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 Monday at the Church.
