Tracy Wood Bennett, 99, passed away December 14, 2015 in Mexia, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 in the Armour Cemetery in Coolidge, Texas with Jason Stovall officiating. Tracy was born September 24, 1916 in Datura, Texas (Limestone County) to Wood and Hattie Heath Bennett. He grew up in the Coolidge area and graduated from Coolidge High School. He proudly served his country during World War II in the US Air Force. Tracy worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a Certified Public Accountant for a number of years before retiring. After his wife, Ruby, passed away, he moved to Mexia where he later married Maureen DeVore. Living a long life, Tracy was blessed with good health, a good mind and the opportunity to live independently until earlier this year. He had an outgoing personality and made friends easily. Tracy loved his family and his faithful companion, his dog, Boy. His favorite pastime was playing dominoes. He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Ruby Bennett and Maureen Bennett; sister, Christell Prichard; and brother, Jack Bennett. Tracy is survived by two nieces, Joan Kluosky and husband, John and children of Palm Bay, FL and Diana Bauer and husband, Tom and children of Cincinnati, OH; nephew, Carlos Robbins and wife, Sheila and children of FL; step-daughter, Bobbie Bowden and husband, Rayford of Kosse; granddaughter-in-law, Terry Walpole of Alba, TX; great-granddaughters, Raina Reeder and husband, Cameron and son, Chase of The Colony, TX and Mandi Stovall and husband, Jason and son, Cade of Alba, TX; caring neighbor, Carol Blount; and his companion, Boy. Tracy's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Sonny and Lois Bennett for giving Boy a good home.
