Van Morris Hanshaw, Jr., 53, of Groesbeck, passed away May 15, 2013 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 2PM, Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Minister Frank Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Van was born May 17, 1959 in Loma Linda, California to Van Morris Hanshaw, Sr. and Joyce Marie Hanshaw. He worked for Fed-Ex Freight as the number one board driver out of Waco, Texas for 23 years. Van loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Van Hanshaw, Sr.; sister, Susan Holliday; and father-in-law, James E. Howard. Survivors include his wife, Brenda D. Hanshaw of Mexia; daughter, Heather Diane Hafford & husband, Tyrone of Cedar Hill; son, Van Morris Hanshaw, III and wife, Christina of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Meah, Kellin and Brooklyn Hafford, Justin and Brayden Hanshaw and one due in October; mother, Joyce Ivy of Malvern, ARK.; two sisters, Cathy Mackey and husband, Bob of Social Hill, ARK and Karen McFadden and husband, Harold of Cabot, ARK; three brothers, Gary Hanshaw of CA, Brian Hanshaw and wife, Diane of Benton, ARK and Mike Hanshaw and wife, Prey of St. Louis, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Douglas Howard, James Howard,Charles Howard, Keith Howard, Doug Howard, Jr. and Scotty Griffith.
