Virgil Lee Swincki, 88, of Mexia passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 in Mexia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at the Point Enterprise cemetery. "Pinky" was born Jan. 7, 1924 to Luther and Eula Mae Paige Shumate in Coolidge, Texas. She married Florian Joseph "Joe" Swincki on May 19, 1945. During her life she was employed at the Mexia Hosptial and retired after spending many years working as a secretary at Mexia's Westpoint Pepperell Textile Mill. She enjoyed sewing and beading and is remembered by many for the beautiful hand-crafted Christmas stockings and table runners she produced in her spare time. Preceding her in death were her parents, her step-father, L.M. Mabe, brothers, Kenneth and Allen Shumate and her husband , Joe. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Brewer and husband Danny of Bryan, Texas, grandson, Ray Boucher Jr. and great-granddaughters, Bethany and Marisa Boucher of Mexia.
