Virginia Gregory Clark, 91, of Mexia passed away February 6, 2013 at her residence. Graveside services will be 2PM, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Forest Glade Cemetery with Chaplain Mary Wilburn officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Virginia was born December 12, 1921 in Forest Glade, Texas to William "Bill" and Mattie Era Avant Gregory. She married Clyde Clark on July 8, 1940 in Mexia, Texas. Virginia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who spent her life caring for her family. She loved family gatherings, flowers and animals, especially her dogs, Annie and Sophie. She may have been a quiet, soft spoken lady, but she enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Clark; daughter, Mary Clark Mortimer; and brothers, Ernest, Haskell and Dwaine Gregory. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Martha Lynch and husband, Chuck of Mexia; grandsons, Michael Mortimer and wife, Natayla of Seattle, WA and Chris Mortimer of Grapevine; special great-granddaughter, Xanna Mortimer of Seattle. WA; son-in-law, Robert Mortimer of Ennis; sisters, Ruby Blankenship of France, Tina Pearson of Georgetown and Dorothy Pevehouse of Mexia; and a number of nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Mortimer, Chris Mortimer, Robert Mortimer, Greg Pearson and Jack Gregory. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, 107 E. Commerce, Mexia, TX 76667.
