Virginia Ann Samford

Virginia Ann Samford, 82, entered her heavenly home on October 25, 2024. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024 at Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Michael Vestal officiating. 

Virginia was born March 10, 1942 in Wylie, Texas to Lewis and Florence (Hatcher) Hoffard. Virginia married her lifelong partner, Norman G. Samford, on September 20, 1963 in Mexia, Texas. They were blessed with two sons, Michael and Scotty. Virginia’s goal in life was to love and take care of her family and raise her children in a Christian home. She always tried to make sure all their needs were met and strived to keep a nice house for everyone to enjoy.

Virginia was a longtime active member of Temple Baptist Church. She loved her church family and enjoyed participating in church activities. She also loved flowers and enjoyed gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Florence Hoffard; siblings, Joann Miller of McKinney, James Lewis Hoffard of Quinlan, Lulu Cave of Princeton, and Sue Mims of San Antonio.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Norman Samford of Mexia; sons, Michael G. Samford and wife, Sandy Wachsmann of Waco and Scotty L. Samford and fiance, Jennifer Sherrod of Conroe; grandchildren, Ashley, A’Rhyan, Madison, and Brycson Samford; sister, Linda Cox of Plano; and several nieces and nephews.
