W. Sandifer

Mr. W. Leonard Sandifer, 55, passed away Friday December 9, 2005 in Waco. Leonard was born August 21, 1950 in Groesbeck to J. T. and Violet Sandifer. Leonard was a 1968 graduate of Mexia High School. He received an Associates Degree from Texas State Technical Institute in Building Trades and Construction in 1970. He was for many years a private building contractor and worked as head of maintenance at West Hospital in West, Texas for 15 years. He attended church at Antioch Baptist Church in Bellmead, Texas. Leonard was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Sandifer. Survivors include a son, Troy Alan Sandifer of Hamilton, Texas, his father, J.T. Sandifer of Mexia, brothers, James T. Sandifer of Mexia, Marcus E. Sandifer of Queen City, Texas, and Joseph A. Sandifer of Mexia, sister, Kay Cook of Axtell. He was also survived by three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday at the Temple Baptist Church in Mexia. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening.
